April 14, 2026—District 16-6A girls’ basketball coaches recently released the 2025-26 16-6A All-District Girls Basketball Team following Cypress Springs High School’s second-straight regional final appearance.

Cypress Springs freshman sensation Makenzie Jackson took home the district’s MVP after averaging 17 points and nine rebounds per game. Her teammate, senior guard Tamiah Harrison, earned Defensive MVP honors after she averaged 5.3 steals per game. Harrison set a school record with 15 steals in a single game on Feb. 17 against Magnolia.

Offensive MVP honors were split between Langham Creek High School senior forward Brooke Prevost, who averaged 18 points per game, and Cypress Ranch High School senior Averie Steele, who averaged 17 points per game.

Cypress Ranch junior guard Aliyah McIntosh was the District’s Newcomer of the Year. Rounding out the superlatives was the district’s Coach of the Year, Langham Creek Head Coach Danielle Walter. She took over a Langham Creek program that had missed the playoffs the year before and took them to the regional semifinals.
